In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “But No Cigar.” Tell about a time things came this close to working out . . . but didn’t. Would you like the chance to try again, or are you happy with how things eventually worked out?
It’s that moment when you come across an art piece and wonder if your interpretation is similar or vastly different from others’.
I sense someone who’s been broken. They’re crooked and damaged but they’ve put themselves back together enough to move forward. They’re not healed, but if they cleared up the debris, what would be left of them?
That or someone who’s desperately trying to make a relationship of whatever kind work, but the pieces won’t fit together. They glued things all wrong, and even the foundation is crooked.
What about you? What do you get from this work of art?
A great friend of mine sees a puzzle that still needs mending. Some pieces fit, while others don’t, and still there are other pieces that aren’t necessary (easily comparable to life).

Solitude. Interminable but gratifying.

Interesting interpretation. My question…
If our art does not have a clear message, have we failed? I think not.

Oh, if that were the case, I think that would contradict the beauty of art. ^_^

Art, like our writing, always has different meanings, different interpretations to others. I have often been surprised at how others have interpreted what I wrote and found things that not even I noticed that I had done. It makes me happy. In this art piece I see a fallen down tower… perhaps it was built to to be knocked down or perhaps it was an accident.

Ooh! Maybe it was only meant to be temporary — or maybe the destruction was an accident. I ❤ that!

This can also touch on temporary things that you’re still surprised or horrified when they come to an end.

Thank you everyone who’s stopped by and everyone who’s commented. All of these interpretations and questions are stimulating.
